Alex Stone is a diverse and outstanding multi-media artist. She specialises in portraits, illustrations, design and music video creation. Her approach to pieces is delicate, meticulous and sensitive to the subject, producing artworks that meet and often exceed the expectations of her clients.
Her love for life, for people, animals, nature and music (that’s practically everything!) are her inspirations for her creations, and these passions clearly shine through her art. She also loves a challenge!
Of the traditional media, Alex’s favourites are graphite, coloured pencils, inks and pen for fine-line drawing, and she will also turn her hand to oil-painting on canvas. Digitally she uses Photoshop and Premier Pro.
Alex spent her latter teenage years and early twenties in Brittany, France where she gained experience of (and showed a natural flare for!) wood-carving and then went on to train with an artisanal picture framer. You will notice a strong Celtic influence originating from this region in some of Alex’s artwork.
To date, her commissions have ranged from people and pet portraits, album cover designs, book illustrations, lettering for weddings, fine art abstract pieces and video editing of musical performances.

Cost will depend on the nature of the piece/pieces. Based on a rate of £20 an hour, a commissioned portrait could take up to twenty hours to complete, but that all depends on the size and the medium; a portrait in graphite is a lot quicker than one in colour! Alex is happy to discuss pricing with you.
